I apologize for the late notice.  I'm happy to be bringing Gamak to DC's famous Blues Alley this Thursday (tomorrow!) and Friday nights.  Sets are at 8 and 10 PM.  I had an amazing time there last year with Samdhi and can't wait for DC to see Gamak!

Just a quick note to let you know that my new album Gamak is streaming in its entirety on NPR's First Listen until Monday.

Lastly, for those of you who don't know already, my wife and I had a baby boy little over 5 weeks ago.

Greetings from Amsterdam where I'm stranded due to Hurricane Sandy. I hope that everyone who was hit by the storm has fared well with little damage or injury!!

We had a great tour with Samdhi these last two weeks starting at the Akbank Caz Festival in Istanbul and finishing at the Guinness Jazz Festival in Cork. Despite my electronics being stolen and bit of grueling travel towards the end, a lot of great music was performed for a bunch of really wonderful audiences.…

I hope that the Summer has treated you well thus far. It's hard to believe that August is already upon us! I'm happy to tell you that I was named Alto Saxophonist of the Year by both the Jazz Journalist Association and the 60th Annual Downbeat Critics Poll earlier this Summer.  You can see who else won by clicking the links.
