- Q: What is StageBloc?
- A: StageBloc is both a free, hosted service providing simple websites for entertainers and a web development company that specializes in developing and maintaining customized websites.
- Q: Why does my band need StageBloc?
- A: The majority of entertainers use a Myspace profile as their main website. Doing so limits what they can do and how they can express themselves. With StageBloc there are no limitations. We will work with you to help you create a website that is exactly what you want. And with our system, it will be just as easy (if not easier!) to update and control your site than your Myspace profile. Even better, when you make updates through StageBloc, it automatically updates your Myspace, Buzznet, Facebook, and any other site/profile you'd like! At StageBloc its our goal to simplify creating and maintaining a comprehensive internet presence.
- Q: Can you design my band's website and/or MySpace, etc. profile?
- A: Yes, we most definitely can! In fact, we'd absolutely love to and have special package rates when you also get an account through us. But just to be clear, you do NOT have to have us design and develop your website to use The StageBloc System. That's the beauty of our system, it's completely customizable!
- Q: Can we hire our own web developer to design and create our website, but still use The StageBloc System to run it?
- A: Yes! Yes! That is exactly the reason why we worked so hard creating an API for our system - so any web developer could easily use our system to power a band's website. Need help with the API? Either shoot us an email through our contact form, or peruse our API docs - Coming Soon!
- Q: Can we design our own site and have you build it?
- A: Yes you definitely can. We employ some of the most talented web developers in the industry who can create any site you can imagine. Contact us and we'll go from there!
- Q: What is the "Integrated Fansite"?
- A: The integrated Fansite is a built-in feature of StageBloc that allows bands to have their own, login protected, customized Fansite for their website. This means that fans can register for the bands Fansite and login to access exclusive content. Upon registration, each fan's information is stored and used to populate a highly featured, custom mailing list from which the band can contact select fans depending on a variety of statistics and variables. Every content item manageable through the StageBloc backend can be made accessible exclusively, or additionally, in the Fansite... making the creation of exclusive content a breeze.
- Q: StageBloc doesn't have a feature I want... can you help?
- A: Yes we can! We have designed The StageBloc System from the ground up with customizability at its core. Please contact us if you have a great feature idea and we'll see what we can do.
- Q: How do I integrate my social networking site (ie. MySpace) with StageBloc?
- A: At the moment we're doing this using our own custom flash reader. In the future we'll be working to integrate our system directly with Myspace and the like through their REST API's, but currently the majority of social networking sites have not opened up their API's enough. Things are in the works though, so we'll keep you posted! In the meantime, we've found that updating content via our flash reader is pretty slick and does the job quite nicely!
- Q: How much does StageBloc cost?
- A: Our hosted simple sites are completely free. As we continue developing our platform and service we'll open up paid upgrades. Custom website costs depend on what services and features you require. We try to keep things as cost effective as possible though, which allows us to work withing a wide a range of budgets. Contact us for a quote and begin the process!
- Q: Where do I go to login to my account?
- A: http://stagebloc.com/accounts/account_name
- Q: Help, I can't seem to login to my StageBloc account!
- A: That means one of two things. Either you've forgotten your password or are using the wrong login, or your account has been suspended. If it's an issue with your password/login, first try the "forgot password" link on the login page. If that doesn't work, file a Bug Report through our contact page and we'll take care of it for you ASAP. Otherwise it means your account has been suspended. The only times we would do that is if you have continually missed payments and ignored our incessant attempts to contact you and collect. If you're having trouble keeping up with payments, please get in touch with us so we can work something out. We're here to help your band succeed... and we want to work with you to make sure that happens.
- Q: Are you hiring?
- A: We are always looking for new people to join the StageBloc team. If you'd like to be considered for a programming/development or design position, please prepare a portfolio before you contact us.
